UK Hand Knitting
The UK Hand Knitting Association is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the crafts of knitting and crochet through a variety of activities.
It has developed a nationwide network of volunteers who pass on their skills to encourage newcomers to learn to knit or crochet at craft shows and other events across the UK. The UK Hand Knitting team believe everyone can knit or crochet with a little help and by taking things one stitch at a time.
The friendly volunteers will be available in the UK Hand Knitting area to help you knit or crochet squares or to join the squares into blankets.
The blankets will form part of UK Hand Knitting’s Commit To Knit campaign which is asking people to knit or crochet one item for charity during September. This means you can learn something new and contribute to the campaign at the same time.
As well as the opportunity to make a square, the UK Hand Knitting stand will play host to the Yarn Doctors. Bronagh and Juliet are both experienced knitwear designers, writers and teachers who will be available to solve your knitting and crochet problems. So if there is a technique that is tripping you up or you are stuck on a pattern, bring your questions and projects along to get some help and encouragement.
The UK Hand Knitting Association board members are major distributors of yarn and related products in the UK.
